This is one of the moments when I’m glad I live in the ‘rectum of the US’. Chile had an earthquake (8.8) with some nasty damage. However the big question here in the States is the risk of tsunami in Alaska and Hawaii. Now Alaska is only expecting waves a couple of feet high. Hawaii? Er, little different…
And as can be expected, us Americans have hit the panic button on the islands. Supposedly already one traffic fatality as people scramble over there for higher ground. So as I lay in my bed in sunny South Texas, my hopes and prayers are with the folks along the potential paths of a tsunami. Damn round Earth.
