CelebrityFIST Manifesto (02/27/10)

First - notice the “Preamble” above the name on top.  As you can tell, its a play from a line from “V for Vendetta”.  The point is that ‘celebrity’ (the idea, not a person) should NOT be respected by the public simply because it is celebrity but rather the idea is a celebrity simply because it is a creation of the public.

A simple - but strong - idea.

Celebrity, in and of itself, is a nebulous thing.  However, the endorsements; the promotions; the ‘attendance fees’ are something totally different.  In essence, people are being paid for being a ‘celebrity’ (perfect case in point: Paris Hilton’s ‘party fees’).

By that measure, we here at ChaozCentral not only see ‘celebrity’ as a bought and sold commodity but one ripe for ridicule.  To offend is to bask in its glory.  Does it make sense?  Hell no!  But then again neither does spending a fortune to film a bunch of supposed ‘nobodies’ for a ‘reality’ show that is scripted.  No?

To make on last stab at a sober interpretation:  Stars don’t fuck with us.  We fuck with stars.  Hows that?
